Educational Background

2015 - Present Northwestern University, Doctoral Student, Materials Science and Engineering
2011-2015 Penn State University, B.S. Materials Science and Engineering

Research Objectives

My work is focused on improved understanding and enhancement of optical properties of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides. Specifically, I am exploring the use of shape changes and integration of plasmonic nanostructures in 2D systems for possible application in next-generation optoelectronic devices. I focus on the synthesis and characterization of these structures, namely characterizing the optical and structural properties via Raman/PL spectroscopy and electron microscopy, respectively.

Honors and Awards

2015, Ryan Fellowship for Nanotechnology, Northwestern University, International Institute of Nanotechnology (IIN)

2015, National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship, Northwestern University
