Educational Background
2013 - Present | Northwestern University, Doctoral Student, Materials Science and Engineering |
2009 - 2013 | University of Chicago, B.S., Chemistry with Honors |
Research Objectives
As part of the Center for Electrochemical Energy Science (CEES), I am working towards understanding the dynamic changes in structure and composition of transition metal oxides as they undergo cycling with Li+ ions. These studies will help elucidate reaction mechanisms and ion transport kinetics, which are important for understanding the cause of energy inefficiencies and reversibility issues in these electrode materials. I utilize several TEM & STEM techniques, such as HRTEM imaging and EELS, to study structure and composition at the atomic scale and collaborate with other CEES members at Northwestern and Argonne National Lab for complementary X-Ray characterization and DFT modeling studies
