VPD Group Student visits University of Texas-San Antonio
Fernando Castro, 4th year PhD student in the VPD group, travelled to the University of Texas- San Antonio in January. Fernando was hosted by Professor Miguel Yacamán (Department of Physics and Astronomy) for a week to gain more experience with aberration-corrected Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) in preparation for the installation of NUANCE’s own aberration-corrected STEM in early 2017. He was able to get extensive hands-on experience with UTSA’s JEOL ARM 200F, in addition to meeting and working with many post-docs and staff in Dr. Yacamán’s group.
