NU Undergraduate, Jack Cavanaugh, Selected for MRSEC Summer REU
NU undergraduate, Jack Cavanaugh, was selected to participate in MRSEC's 2013 Summer REU. Jack is a freshman and has been working with NUANCE's EPIC facility manager, Ben Myers, and Microscopy & Imaging Specialist, Eric Miller.
The Northwestern University Materials Research Science & Engineering Center (MRSEC) accepts undergraduate students from across the world for their summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). The students spend 9 weeks over the summer working on a research project led by a MRSEC faculty member, participating in interdisciplinary research group meetings, and writing a technical paper about their research. At the end of the summer, the students give a 15-minute presentation on their research at a public symposium.
