Welcome Professor Ran and Xiaomi

Two new first year grduate students from Department of Materials Science and Engineering joined VPD group as new members.

Ran Li got a B.S. in Material Physics from University of Science and Technology of China, and she will mainly focus on characterization of multi-functional oxides and nano patterning by advanced electron microscopy, funded by MRSEC.

Xiaomi Zhang held double degree from University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiaotong University, and she will mainly focus on characterization of energy materials, especially thermoelectric and battery materials using S/TEM. Characterization is the approach to understand the relationship between material’s nanostructure change and properties.
