Research Objectives and Approach

Magnetic nanostructures is gaining increasingly attention in recent years because its interesting properties and potentila technological applications, for example, magnetic recording, biosensoring and biomedicine. The magnetic properties are highly dependent on size, shapes and composition. My research interest is to apply physical synthesis methods to fabricate different shapes and sizes of nano structures and explore their properties. Various characterization techniques like Microscopy, ICP, XPS, NMR, SQUID and many other techniques will be used to determine the properties of sunthesized magnetic structures. I will be exploring potential appplication of these magnetic nanotructures for biological applications such as contrast agents in MRI, and for the thermal treatment for cancer.
