I plan to examine the 3-D printing of biological scaffolds using novel hydrogel and biological inks, with applications in tissue engineering, drug delivery, and in vivo imaging. I will combine materials techniques, such as antibody labeling of specific proteins with nanoparticles and magnetic nanostructures, with microscopy and other characterization tools in order to learn more about nanoscale interactions between biological tissue and the 3-D scaffolds.
